161 GERMANY - POSTAL HISTORY
Auction #2317: WORLDWIDE + ARGENTINA: Special May auction
Cover /      Cat.#:
VF.     LONG CHAIN OF "MISSES" and interesting censor: Cover (with original letter included) sent on 3/AP/1946 by a displaced citizen of Estonia from a temporary champ in Lübeck to his brother in KALGOORLIE (Australia) and returned to sender. The address of the addressee was unknown to the sender, he couldn't be found in Kalgoorlie and the letter was forwarded to PERTH with no luck, eventuarlly it was returned to sender, BUT THE SENDER HAD MOVED OUT from the camp for displaced persons in Lübeck to another camp in Schleswig. The letter is very interesting, about the cruel consequences of the war, the lack of news, uncertainty about the future and more, excellent piece of great philatelic and historical value!
