F.VF     CHARCOT expedition: 21/JA/1904 Ushuaia - Buenos Aires, postcard with view of "Le Francais" being launched, sent by R. Rallier du Baty (youngest member of the crew, 19 years old) to a friend in Buenos Aires, franked with 4c. Liberty PERFORATION 12 (GJ.243, very rare on cover!), with cancels of USHUAIA (23/JA) and arrival mark. On front there is an interesting inscription in French: "Dear Sir, the great departure is probably tomorrow. My partners who you know join me in saying goodbye and that we will remember you, and we hope to resume our relationship when we are back". With minor defect (insignificant), extremely rare!
