1090 BOLIVIA - POSTAL HISTORY

VF.     16/SE/1853 CARAPARI- Torino (Italy), very long entire letter written in Italian, it was carried by land to some port on the Pacific, and from there by Italian ship to Genova, with arrival on 30/AP/1854, 7 and a half months after the letter was written!! The long text is about the life, habits, etc. of a Catholic priest (father Fortunato) in the mission of Carapari, the conditions of the soil: '...the land is very fertile and can grow cotton, cocoa, coffee, etc...', '...we eat bananas which are very abundant here...', indians '...we are 14 leagues from the Chaco dessert where the Pampas and Tobas live...', '...tobas are brutal and fierce with the Chiriguanos...' and much more, it is 3 pages written in tight handwriting, with no waste for its great historical content narrated in the first person. With several disinfection slits, excellent quality, very rare and interesting!
