Complete Conditions of Sale 1. The buyer is to pay 10% over the hammer price. 2. All stamps in this sale have been carefully checked and are o be authentic (unless otherwise stated), sounds (unless otherwise stated, or described as "Ave": Average). With their original gum, cancellations and perforations, (unless otherwise stated). 3. Successful bidders, unless they are in possession of a numbered green credit card issued by us, are expected to make payment in full before the lots are delivered. A successful mail bidder will be notified of lots purchased and must remit payment in full before the lots are sent. Delivery will be to the address on bid sheet. Proof of receipt at the stated address shall constitute delivery. 4. All goods are sent by registered airmail (unless otherwise requested) at buyer’s expenses and risks. 5. All our "estimate" figures (last column right) are the prices that, in our opinion, each lot should normally fetch, according to its rarity, quality, scarcity and local market trends, and it is useful as a guide to all buyers. As experience showed, most lots sell for 70% to 120% our estimates. 6. As a special agreement with all consignors, every lot has a minimum price (or starting bid) which is one half our estimation. Therefore, we don’t take into consideration any bid under one half of the figure expressed in the last right column. Therefore, all bids over the 50% of our estimate will enter into competition, and all bids over the 80% will obtain the lot; if in absence of further bids at a price of an 80% our figure; and if in presence of further bids at one step over the second higher bid. 7. Many times, we receive two, three or even more equal top bids. In this case (empate), we are used to benefiting the earlier received bid sheet, and we put an "E" on the "realised prices form" as to inform later bidders. To avoid "empates", we suggest you bidding; 2, 08, 30, 12, 101, 51, etc., which is perfectly OK with us (though most auction houses are reclutant to accept such bids). 8. We always try to break collns., in as many lots as possible (as to give collectors a better chance over dealers). 9. We mainly sell other-people’s properties and so, we try to be half a way among buyer’s and seller’s convenience. 10. We give the Scott number/s (unless otherwise stated) and right next to the number, we insert a code that describes the quality (no matter what further specifications may suggest), the validness is on code expressed right after the number. Possible used codes are: Ave. : defective (light or heavy, one way or another) Ave-Fine: defective; if a single piece, hardly noticeable. If several pieces, less than half of them are sound (in another way, we could describe Fine - Ave, which means that over the half of the stamps in lot will be sound). Fine: Sound but somehow not nice (out of center; irregular perfs., scarce, when the issue was printed with abundant margins, very light soiling, smudgy or heavy Pmk., opaque or well-disturbed gum; suspicion (and suspicion only) of toning, small discoloration (not fading), etc. F.VF: Sound and more or less nice, without any of the expressed in the previous gradings. VF: Very nice, fresh, strong coloured, decently cancelled, well and fully perforated or full margined on four sides and completely free of any defect; well over the standard for the issue. VF.XF: A great copy showing one or more characteristics of an extraordinary nature (Jumbo size, huge margined, exact center, etc.). All over the specifications belonging, at least, to the enlisted as VF. XF: Just the best possible copy (or quite close to it), being most or all the characteristics of an extraordinary nature. Of course lots grading is done with careful direct sight, magnifier glass and eventually benzine. Quartzlamp and other sophisticated procedures are not expected on lots cataloguing under u$250.-; Therefore, microscopic defects not noticeable under direct sight, magnifier glass, or benzine may occasionally happen to occur in all gradings. Refering to gum we will describe as NH every stamp which no sign of hinging, can be seen on direct sight. We will disregard world experts opinions that states irrelevant gum alterations, usually controverted, under highly sofisticated systems such as fingertips (unnoticeable at first sight). We consider exagerated quality demands as away to harm the hobby and consequantly, we are firmly against every quality exageration what so ever and we suggest exageratedly fuzzy collectors not to buy in our sales as they may feel unpleased. 11. Before the lot number, we express the status of the lot: if *(one star) unused (w/out or w/a small part of the original gum), ** (two stars) full-gummed but hinged (usually lightly), *** (Three stars) full, never hinged, o. Gum and without any gum disturbance. 12. In regard to expertizations, we our expert committees and we will issue reliable certificates. If stated "with cert" in lot description, it is free; otherwise, it costs u$10.- per stamp or set. Due to many discrepancies among experts, the only opinions, contrary to ours, that we render valid are: for USA and Commonwealth: APS expert committee; for Europe, Asia Africa and Oceania: Peter Holcombe, Switzerland and/or British Philatelic Assn (BPA); for Latin America: Socofira expert committee and/or Kneitschel. For Argentina: the opinion of our expert committee will prevail, among all other expert’s opinions. 13. Any lot which is declared to be other than genuine by an acceptable authority is returnable, for a full cash refund. Also any misdescribed lot is returnable within seven (7) days of receipt. All disputed lots must be returned intact in the condition received. The following lots aren’t returnable: lots with non-specified catalogue numbers; stamps on account of appearance of centring if they are illustrated in catalogue, lots offered "as is", lots altered from their original condition. Late remittance will be considered cause enough to revoke all return privileges. And the amount due, may, at auctioneers’ discretion, be increased by 1 ½ (one and a half percent) compounded monthly interest (minimum u$10.- per month). If auctioneer, at discretion, should institute any legal action to secure payment of a delinquent account, the defaulting buyer shall pay any legal fee, and costs, and collns. Charges incurred by the auctioneer, and such charges will be added to the amount owed. Auctioneer reserves the right to dispose of all lot without notice to defaulting buyer if payment is not made under the terms specified here in, and defaulting buyer agrees to pay such difference to auctioneer. 14. All the lots priced under u$s 50.- and listed in Relisted Sales (that is to say, Half Price Sales, Ecologic Recycled Sales and Relisted Sales strictly speaking) won´t be issued with certificate even though the description states so. 15. The submission of a bid means the full acceptation by the bidder of all the foregoing conditions of sale.
